In 2007 we distributed our available funds based on public nominations and general membership votes.  The plan was to have five grants of $500 each.  Nominations were posted on the web site and printed in the newsletter.  There were eight nominees.  

The first four recipients were clear :

• The Feather Distribution Project

• World Bird Sanctuary

• AAV Medical Research

• Perfectly Precious Rescue and Adoption

There was a tie for the fifth recipient.  The membership decided, unanimously, to split the fifth donation between:

• Avian Health Network

• Pekin Duck Fund

We will review reactions to this year's distribution method to determine the process for the future, so let us know your feelings.

Congratulations to all our recipients.  We presented a check to Jonathan Reyman, of The Feather Distribution Project, at the meeting, since he happened to be our guest speaker.
